Gourmet Rice Krispies Treats

Gourmet Rice Krispies Treats are super easy and CRACKERfun to make with the whole family! Below I have provided 3 popular flavors: Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich, Birthday Cake, and Salted Caramel.

Although, these may sound like bizarre flavors to make Rice Krispies treats out of, trust me when I say that they are out of this world! I specifically chose these flavors as they are perfect for all ages and occasions.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup butter (2 sticks)
  • 3 (16 oz) bags miniature marshmallows
  • 16 Cups Rice Krispies cereal

Prep:

  • Using nonstick spray, coat the bottom of a 9″-by-13″ baking pan.
  • Layer a sheet of wax paper over the nonstick spray.

Instructions:

  • Melt butter over low heat in a large pot.
  • Add miniature marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Then remove pot from heat.
  • Stir in Rice Krispies cereal until fully coated.

 

** The ingredient measurements for each of the recipes below make one large batch of Gourmet Rice Krispies Treats.

 

Peanut Butter

Ingredients:

Peanut Butter and Raspberry Jelly Rice Krispies treat sandwich. Topped with vanilla frosting, raspberry, peanut butter bite, and drizzled with melted peanut butter.
  • 1/2 Cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 Cups jelly (flavor of your choice)
  • Optional garnishes: vanilla frosting, melted peanut butter, berry or fruit, peanut butter bites, peanuts, etc.

Instructions:

  • After making your butter, marshmallow, and Rice Krispies mix, stir in 1/2 a cup of creamy peanut butter.
  • Spread your batch of Rice Krispies mix into prepared 9″-by-13″ pan, until it’s layered evenly.
  • Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  • Split the batch in half, using one half for the top of your PB&J sandwich and the other half for the bottom.
  • Cut into desired shape. (Typically, I use a cookie cutter so that both halves are identical in size and shape.)
  • For the center layer, spread jelly over the bottom cereal layer and  place the top half over it.
  • Top it off with desired garnishes!

Birthday Cake Rice Krispies treat with vanilla frosting and colored sprinkles.
  • 1/2 Cup colored sprinkles
  • Vanilla Frosting
  • Optional garnishes: sprinkles and frosting

Instructions:

  • After making your butter, marshmallow, and Rice Krispies mix, let it cool in the pot.
  • Once the mixture has cooled, stir in 1/2 a cup of colored sprinkles.
  • Spread your batch of Rice Krispies mix into prepared 9″-by-13″ pan, until it’s layered evenly.
  • Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  • Split the batch in half and cut into desired shape. (Using a cookie cutter is recommended)
  • For the center layer, spread vanilla frosting over the bottom cereal layer and place the top half over it.
  • Top it off with desired garnishes!

Ingredients:

Salted Caramel Rice Krispies treat. Topped with vanilla frosting, caramel syrup, pretzel, salted caramel chocolate melt, and sprinkled with salt.
  • 1 (11 oz) bag of caramel bits
  • 1/2 Cup chocolate melting wafers
  • 1 Cup broken pretzels
  • Optional garnishes: pretzels, caramel syrup, frosting, chocolate or caramel candy, salt, etc.

Instructions:

  • Melt your caramel bits and chocolate melting wafers  and stir it into your Rice Krispies mix, along with broken pretzel pieces.
  • Spread your batch of Rice Krispies mix into prepared 9″-by-13″ pan, until it’s layered evenly.
  • Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  • Cut into desired shape (Using a cookie cutter is recommended).
  • Top it off with desired garnishes!
